Sami Alsodais Promoted to as Deputy CEO for Intellectual Property Ecosystem Support at SAIP

Sami Alsodais سامي السديس has been promoted to Deputy CEO for Intellectual Property Ecosystem Support at the SAIP – Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, marking a continued leadership journey in shaping Saudi Arabia’s intellectual property ecosystem at both national and international levels.

He has built a distinguished career spanning more than two decades across SAIP – Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), and the Ministry of Commerce – Saudi Arabia. At SAIP, he progressed through key leadership roles including Deputy CEO for IP Policy and Strategy, Deputy CEO for Corporate Affairs, Deputy CEO of IP Policy and Collaboration, and Intellectual Property Advisor, contributing to national IP frameworks, strategy development, and global engagement. Earlier, he served as Intellectual Property Advisor at the Ministry of Commerce & Investment, supporting trade policy and regulatory development. His long tenure at KACST included roles such as Director General of the Saudi Patent Office, Deputy Director-General for Technical Affairs, and Patent Examiner, where he played a foundational role in developing Saudi Arabia’s patent and innovation infrastructure. He has also represented the Kingdom in WTO delegations and led multiple international IP committees under WIPO, the Paris Union, and the Arab League.

Academically, he holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering from King Saud University and has completed business studies at London Business School, strengthening his expertise in leadership, governance, and policy development.
