Obaid Alasheer Appointed as Executive Director, Operations & Resilience at Najm

Obaid Alasheer عبيد العشير has embarked on a new leadership chapter as Executive Director, Operations & Resilience at Najm in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. With over a decade of experience in platform engineering, application operations, and IT service management, he brings extensive expertise in maintaining mission-critical digital platforms, strengthening operational resilience, and driving technology modernisation across Saudi Arabia’s government sector.

Before joining Najm, Alasheer served as Head of Platform Engineering at Elm Company, leading platform reliability, DevOps practices, and modernisation initiatives for critical digital services. His professional journey also includes more than 11 years at THIQAH, where he progressed through several roles, culminating in Application Operations Director. During his tenure, he led technical operations, strengthened service continuity, advanced DevOps adoption, and managed teams responsible for reliable digital service delivery.

Alasheer holds an Executive MBA from Al Yamamah University and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Software Engineering from King Saud University. Combining deep technical expertise with executive leadership, he brings a strong foundation to advancing operational excellence, resilience, and service reliability at Najm.
