Wafi Albalawi Joins Public Health Authority of Saudi Arabia as Head of Tobacco Control, where he will lead national efforts to advance public health policies and drive impactful strategies for tobacco harm reduction.

With a distinguished academic and professional background, Dr. Albalawi brings a wealth of expertise. He currently serves as Assistant Professor at King Saud University, specializing in teaching, qualitative research, and community health. His career also includes key roles at MEDGULF Saudi Arabia, where he shaped health strategy and awareness initiatives, and impactful research positions at Portland State University’s Institute on Aging and the University of Utah.

Armed with a PhD in Public Health from Oregon Health & Science University and a Master’s in Public Health Education and Promotion from the University of Utah, Dr. Albalawi is uniquely positioned to influence health outcomes and champion community well-being.
