Faisal Sedrani Promoted to Chief Executive Officer at Exel by Merak

Faisal Sedrani, MBA, PMP® has stepped into the role of Chief Executive Officer at Exel by Merak, marking a defining chapter in his leadership journey within Saudi Arabia’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. His appointment reflects a strong track record of building high-impact platforms, scaling innovation programs, and driving sustainable growth across emerging sectors.

With extensive experience across venture building, innovation platforms, and entrepreneurship, Faisal has previously served as Head of Management at Exel by Merak, where he led the full establishment of the subsidiary and spearheaded startup acceleration and digital innovation initiatives. Alongside this, he continues as Vice President of Innovation Platform at Merak Capital, heading funded accelerators and national innovation programs. He is also the Co-Founder of Smart Deer Co., where he led the development of environmental technologies and smart desert restoration solutions using robotics, IoT, and sustainable systems. His career further includes impactful roles at AstroLabs as a Programs Consultant and Entrepreneur-in-Residence, as well as delivering thought leadership through the Misk Foundation as a speaker and instructor.

Faisal holds a Master of Business Administration with a focus on Marketing Intelligence and Big Data from the University of Gloucestershire, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Architectural and Building Sciences from King Saud University. He is a PMP®-certified professional and a Certified Manager from CMI UK, combining technical expertise with strategic leadership to drive innovation, sustainability, and national development outcomes.
